SALISBURY,--In Penn Yan, May 21, 1914, Fred Salisbury of Barrington, aged 38 years.
He died at the home of his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tetor, Lake street, besides whom he leaves his widow and six children: Saustina, Welland, Rita, Mary, Thelma and Elizabeth; and two brothers, Elmer, of Colorado; Samuel of Canada. The funeral was held Saturday, Rev. Howard I. Andrews, of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial in Lake View Cemetery.

Mrs. William R. Saunders
The funeral for Mrs. William R. Saunders, 84, Devil's Lake, N.D., will be at 2 Monday in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Doyon, N.D. She died Monday.
Alice C. Arneson was born May 10, 1901, at Doyon, where she grew up and attended schools. She later attended Concordia College at Moorhead. She married William R. Saunders June 23, 1920, at Doyon. They farmed near there. In 1948, they moved into Doyon, and in 1953, they moved to Fairbault, Minn. In 1977, they moved to Devil's Lake. He died in 1981.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Curtis R., Devil's Lake; a sister, Mabel Wilberg, Devil's Lake; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. (Gilbertson, Devils Lake)

DR. CURTIS R. SAUNDERS
Dr. Curtis R. Saunders, 54, Devils Lake, died Sunday, March 6, 1994, in Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake.
Curtis R. Saunders was born Sept. 6, 1939, the sons of William and Alice (Arneson) Saunders, in Devils Lake. He attended Doyon (N.D.) Public School. He moved with his family to Faribault, Minn. He attended Minnesota Braille and Sight Saving School, graduating in 1958. He attended Saint Olaf College, Northfield, Minn., and Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa. He started his practice in Devils Lake in 1966. He married Judith Young June 14, 1969, in Des Moines, Iowa. Judith died Oct. 21, 1981.
He is survived by sons, Steven and Bryan, both of Devils Lake, Mark, Grand Forks; and a niece, Gayle (Mrs. Keith) Burt, Doyon, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and a brother, Richard.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Devils Lake.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, in Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Devils Lake Cemetery.

Elroy Schaefer, 59, of Rt. 4, Chilton, died Thursday morning at Manitowoc County Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Collins. The Rev. Kenneth Edenhauser will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Schaefer was born Feb. 3, 1912, in the Town of Rockland, son of John and Louise Schneider Schaefer. He married Dorothy Klann June 20, 1934, at Reedsville.
Survivors include his wife, his parents of Reedsville, a son, Jerome of Rt. 4. Chilton, two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Nathalyn) Berg of Rt. 4, Chilton, and Mrs. Dennis (Diane) Rabe of Collins, two sisters, Mrs. Harold Haese of Rt. 2, Reedsville, and Mrs. Arthur Krueger of Brillion and nine grandchildren. A sister preceded him in death in infancy.

John Schaefer, 89, of Rt. 2, Reedsville, died Monday evening at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haese.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Collins. The Rev. Kenneth Edenhauser will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Schaefer was born Mar. 30, 1884, in the Town of Rantoul, son of the, late Gottlieb and Anna Freuck Schaefer. He married Louisa Schneider June 6, 1905. They farmed in the Town of Rockland until 1934, when they retired and moved to Collins. He was a trustee of the Collins State Bank for many years and also a trustee of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Renata) Haese, of at. 2, Reedsville, and Mrs. Arthur (Verona) Krueger, of Brillion, four brothers, August, of Reedsville, William, of Potter, Otto and Adolph, of Brillion, a sister, Mrs. Augusta Reese, of Brillion, three grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A son, a daughter, a sister and a son-in-law preceded him in death.

Mrs. John (Louisa) Schaefer, 100, of 415 Springdale Dr.,
Brillion, died Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter in Brillion.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins. The Kev. Kenneth Edenhausar will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Schaefer, nee Louisa Schneider, was born Oct. 25, 1877, in the Town of Rockland, daughter of the late William and Wilhelmina Marks Schneider. She was married to John Schaefer June 6, 1905, in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins. Mrs. Schaefer had been a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Arthur (Verona) Krueger of Brillion; a son-in-law, Harold Haese of Route 2, Brillion; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elroy (Dorothy) Schaefer of Route 4, Chilton, a brother, Henry Schneider of Route 4, Chilton; a sister, Bertha Draheim of Brillion and 11 grandchildren. Her husband, a son, two daughters, four brothers and a son-in-law preceded her in death

SCHIRMER, ALBERT

FARMER KILLED
Albert Schirmer, who resides west of Plymouth on, the read to Crystal Lake, was struck by a, south bound St: Paul train Sunday morning and met instant death.
Sunday morning when Carl Shilling, who owns the farm immediately adjoining that of Schirmer, was taking his cows to, pasture he discover the mangled portions of the body and the neighbors were summoned. A son of Mr. Schirmer, was able to identify his father's remains.
Mr. Schirmer, who owns eightyone and one-half acres, adjoining the farm of Mr. Schilling, had been to Glenbeulah Saturday and in returning home was struck by a freight train.
Mr. Schirmer had spent a good portion of the day in Glenbeulah and returned a portion of the way with Joseph Schneider, stopping off at his home for lunch at midnight.
Shortly after this hour he left for his home, Mr. Schneider giving him a lantern to light the way.
The decedent was born in the, town of Sheboygan Falls, Feb. 19, 1867 and is survived by a, wife and three children, one daughter and two sons.
The remains were brought to Plymouth by Undertakers Kiefer and Wittkopf and the funeral will be held Tuesday morning from the Plymouth Catholic church, Rev. Fr.Meyer officiating.

JOSEPH A. SCHIRMER
Joseph A. Schirmer, 80, of Greenbush. died Monday after-noon at Plymouth Hospital following an illness of two months.
Born on Dec. 7, 1889 in the Town of Plymouth, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schirmer.
He was married in Plymouth on July 31, 1917 to the former Viola Goldbeck. The couple lived and fanned in the Town of Plymouth for 22 years, after which Mr. Schirmer was employed by Silver Moon Springs and the S & R Cheese Corp., prior to retiring.
The couple lived in Greenbush since 1939.
He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plymouth.
Only immediate survivor is his wife.
One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, the Rev. G. A. Karpinsky, associate pastor of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenbush Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Wednesday until the hour of services.

Mrs. Schirmer Summoned Today At New Holstein
New Holstein.— (Special) —Mrs. Sadie Schirmer died early this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Shaver, in this city. She suffered a stroke on Tuesday.
She was born in Plymouth Feb. 8, 1870, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Biskobing. On May 2, 1889, she was married in- Sheboygan to Albert Schirmer. They operated a cheese factory for several years, and then a farm, both in the town of Plymouth, where her husband passed away April 30, 1911. Since 1919 she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Shaver, first at
Plymouth and for the past 15 years at New Holstein.
She was affiliated with the Christian Mothers' sodality of St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Plymouth, and of the Christian Mothers' sodality of Holy Rosary church here.
Survivors are two sons, Joseph and Albert, town of Plymouth; one daughter, Mrs. Shaver; a sister, Mrs. Lena Klotz, Milwaukee, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9 a. m. at Holy Rosary church, the Rev. Alfred Pritzl officiating. The body may be viewed at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral home here from 5 p. m., Saturday, until the time of the services. Interment will be at the St. John's Catholic cemetery at Plymouth.

Mrs. Schirmer Is Buried On Monday After Last Rites
New Holstein, Wis. — F u n e r a l services for Mrs. Sadie Schirmer was held Monday morning at the Erbe-Hoffmann funeral home and at Holy Rosary church, the Rev. Alf. Pritzl officiating.
Interment was in St. John's cemetery at Plymouth, the following acting as pallbearers: M. H. Hand, Frank Schilling and Alfred Zegler of Plymouth, Joseph Leonard, Thomas Mahlberg and Mike Dorn of this city.
The Christian Mothers' Sodality of St. John's church in Plymouth held vigil at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and the Holy Rosary Sodality Sunday evening.

MRS. VIOLA SCHIRMER
Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Schirmer, 91, formerly of Greenbush, were held Monday, Sept. 26, 2 p.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. Thomas Burton pastor of St. John Lutheran Church officiated with the burial in the Greenbush Cemetery.
Mrs. Schirmer died at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth, Thursday evening, Sept. 22, where she had been a resident the past 15 years.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1896 in Plymouth, a daughter of the late Louis and Lena Roepke Goldbeck.
She was married to Joseph Schirmer on July 31, 1917, in Plymouth. The couple lived and farmed in the Town of Plymouth before moving to Greenbush in 1946. Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1970.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. John Lutheran Church.

Edward J. Schlecht. 62, 8516 12th Place, Somers, died Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 30, 1983) at St. Catherine's Hospital
The son of the late Chris and Anna (Kaplan) Schlecht, he was born March 1, 1921 in Tilden, Neb. He attended school in Nebraska and moved to Somers from the Town of Paris in 1972.
On Sept. 23. 1948 he married Mary Ann Vergieis at St. Lawrence Church, Milwaukee
He was seif-employed as a carpenter.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Town of Paris.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, David and Randy, at home; Paul, of Greendale, and Mark, Kenosha: a daughter. Marilyn, at home, and two sisters. Mrs. Wendell (Helen) Smith, Oregon, Wis., and Mrs. Ervin (Vlasta) Ashby, Norfolk, Neb.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvie.

Alvina Schneider
Alvina Schneider, age 93, formerly of Collins, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004 at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.
She was born Jan. 29, 1911 in Cato, daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Wagner) Matznick. She was married to Edgar Schneider on Nov. 23, 1933 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Collins. She worked as a correspondent for the Manitowoc Herald Times, at Normington's Laundry and Chilton Metal Products, until her retirement. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Collins all of her life, where she and her husband were custodians for many years prior to his death. She was a charter member of St. Peter's Lutheran Society. She was also a member of the St. Peter's Church Choir and the Collins Homemakers. She enjoyed knitting, jigsaw puzzles, word search books and playing cards, especially sheepshead.
Survivors include on daughter and son-in-law: Karen and Roger Robley of Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Carl and Alice Schneider of Plymouth; four grandchildren: Linda and Scott Hill; Timothy Robley and fiancee: Patty McNeil; Samantha and Ken Wetenkamp; and Seth and Jennifer Schneider; six great-grandchildren: Corey and Logan Hill; Kylie and Jacy Robley; and Noah and Alyssa Wetenkamp; and a special cousin: Margaret Kraus. She was preceded in death by her husband: Edgar; and three sisters and brothers-in-law: Hertha and Herman Damm; Lydia and Herbert Hammel; and Nora and Lester Miller.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Collins. The Rev. Robert Hankwitz will officiate. Entombment will take place at the Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc.

CLARMONT SCHNEIDER
Clarmont (Butch) Schneider, 41, of R. 4, Chilton, died at his home Thursday morning.
A native of Manitowoc County, he was born April 7, 1924 in the Town of Rockland, a son of Henry and Lilly Behnke Schneider. He attended Collins Public School in Manitowoc County.
He was a salesman for the Memorial Drive Monument Works, Manitowoc, and an agent for the Hapla Seed Co. He made his home with his parents.
He also was a charter member and treasurer of the Rockea Hunting Club and lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Collins.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Harvey of Waldo and Ellwood of Valders, and two sisters, Mrs. Elwood (Lucille) Wanzel, R. 4, Chilton, and Mrs. Gaylord (Lois) Lambres of Manitowoc. A sister and brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Collins, with the Rev. Robert Wendland, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Christianson Funeral Home, Valders, from 3 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday and then at the church from noon until time of services.

Edgar August Schneider, age 82, of 431 Madison Street, Reedsville, passed away Saturday, April 18, 1992, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 1:30 p.m. at Peter's Lutheran Church, Collins, with Rev. Arnold Ruddat officiating. Burial will follow in the Knollwood Memorial Gardens.
Born November 8, 1909, son of the late Charles and Bertha Prochnow Schneider. He was married November 23, 1933 to Alvina Matznick at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Collins, He worked at the Brillion Iron Works for 33 years until his retirement, lie was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and had been a janitor at the church for many years. He was a church board member.
Survivors include his wife, Alvina; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Roger Robley of Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Alice Schneider of Collins four grandchildren, Linda (James) Solkowski, Timothy Robley and Samantha and Seth Schneider; one sister-in-law, Nora Miller of Valders.
Friends may call at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church from 9 a m. Monday until the time of services.

Ellwood 'Woody' Schneider
Ellwood "Woody" Schneider, age 82, of Valders, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at his residence.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1925, son of the late Henry and Lilly (Behnke) Schneider. On Aug. 22, 1953, he married the former Bernice Meyer at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Collins, of which he was a life time member. He farmed with his parents on the family farm in the town of Rockland until he was drafted into the U.S. Army on May 19, 1954, serving his country for 2 years. He then was employed with Leverenz Shoe Company for 30 years, serving as financial secretary and treasurer of Local 767 U.F. and C.W.U. Ellwood was also employed by Hofmann Monument of Two Rivers, as a part time salesman for 42 years, a job he enjoyed very much, retiring on Jan. 1, 2008.
Survivors include his wife: Bernice of Valders; a son and daughter-in-law: Steven and Lynn Schneider of Valders, and their children Kristen of Minn., and Chad of Valders; a daughter and son-in-law: Nancy and Gerald Hendzior and their children, Brian, Amanda, and Sarah of Mukwonago; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Lucille and Elwood Wenzel of Collins; and Lois and Gaylord Lambries of Manitowoc; a sister-in-law: Betty Schneider of Sheboygan Falls; his in laws through marriage: Joyce Voigt of Carpenterville, Ill., Alan and Gladys Meyer of Valders; Marjorie and Ronald Brueckman of Valders; and Doris and Sally Meyer of Manitowoc. In addition to his parents, Ellwood was preceded in death by three brothers: Orville, Clarmont and Harvy; a sister: Lila; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Clarence and Ovilla Rautmann Meyer; three brothers-in-law: Lloyd and Gene Meyer and Henry Voigt.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Collins. The Rev. Robert Hankwitz will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Harvey L. Schneider Cheesemaker, Dies
Harvey L. Schneider" 62, of Route 1, Waldo, owner of Schneider's Cheese Factory in the Town of Lima, died Saturday evening, apparently from a heart attack.
Mr. Schneider was born Feb. 28, 1922 in the Town of Rockland (Manitowoc County), a son of Henry and Lilly Behnke Schneider. He attended schools at Collins.
On Oct. 28, 1944, he married Betty DeZwarte in the Town of Plymouth. The couple lived in Holy Cross for nine months before moving to the Town of Lima where he began Schneider's Cheese Factory.
Mr. Schneider was licensed as a cheesemaker at the age Of 17 and remained in the business for 45 years.
Affectionately known as "The Big Cheese," Mr. Schneider was awarded the Wisconsin State Fair Governor's Sweepstakes in Cheese in 1949, 1951 and 1953 and was a regular blue ribbon award winner at the Sheboygan County Fair.
In 1968, he was named the World Champion of Cheddar Cheese at the World Dairy Expo at Madison.
He also won numerous district, regional and international awards for cheese products.
Mr. Schneider is a past directorof the Wisconsin Cheesemakers' Association
He was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in the Town of Lima and served on the church building committee. He was also a member of. the board of directors of Waldo State Bank.
Survivors are his wife; five, sons, Michael of Waldo. and Jerry, Thomas, John and David, all of rural Sheboygan Falls; one daughter, Mrs. Neil (Mary) Eigenberger of Sheboygan Falls; 11 grandchildren; his parents of Route 4, Chilton, one brother, Ellwood of Valders; and two sisters, Mrs. Elwood Wenzel of Chilton and Mrs. Gaylord K Lambries of Manitowoc.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m.. Wednesday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church,Town of Lima. The Rev. Arthur Anaker, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

Mrs. Fred Schneider, 65, nee Emilia Glassow, Collins, died Sunday morning
at the Holy Family Hospital following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Berge
funeral home in Valders and at 2 o'clock at the St. Peters German Lutheran
church in the town of Rockland. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Schneider was born August 18, 1880 in Calumet county. She was married
in 1903 to Fred Schneider and the couple lived on a farm south of Collins
throughout Mrs. Schneider's life.
Survivors besides the husband include three daughters, Mrs. Reuben Krueger,
Collins, Mrs. Leona Bennin of Cascade and Mrs. Arthur Wenzel of Kaukauna;
two sons, Kermit and Wilfred on the home farm, three brothers, Fred and Arthur
Glassow of Reedsville and Christ of Hilbert; one sister, Mrs. Paulina
Kreuger of Reedsville; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The body will be at the Berge funeral home from Tuesday noon until the time
of the service Wednesday.

Kermit Schneider, 59, of the Town of Rockland, Manitowoc County, was found dead Sunday morning at home. He died of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter' Evangelical Lutheran Church, Collins. The Rev. Robert Wendland will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Schneider was born Dec. 23, 1909, in the Town of Rockland, son of the late Fred and Emelie Glasow Schneider. He was a section hand for the Soo Line Railroad and also engaged in farming. He served overseas with the Army from 1941 to 1945.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Leona Bennin of Manitowoc, Mrs. Ruben Krueger of Rt. 4. Chilton, and Mrs. Lydia Wenzel of Kaukauna; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday until 10:30 a. m. Wednesday at the Reedsville Funeral Home and then at the church until the time of services.

Lilly M. Schneider, age 99, a resident of North Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center,
Manitowoc, formerly of Collins, died Sunday March 5, 2000, at Holy Family
Memorial Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2000, at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Collins, with the Rev. Matt Doebler officiating, burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was born May 19, 1900, in Brillion, daughter of the late William and Rose (Engel) Behnke.
On June 22, 1921, she married Henry W. Schneider at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion. She farmed with her husband in the town of Rockland until 1954. Mrs.Schneider was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Collins, and was a charter member of the Ladies Aide and the Collins Sr. Citizens.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ellwood and Bernice. Schneider, Valders; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lucille and Elwood Wenzel, Chilton, and Lois and Gaylord Lambries, Manitowoc; a daughter-in-law, Betty Schneider, Sheboygan; 12 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. Lilly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry, January 7, 1988; three sons; a daughter; a grandson; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
The Wieting Funeral Home, Reedsville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Wilfred Schneider, 48 of Rt. 4 Chilton died Saturday night at Calumet Memorial Hospital Chilton following a lingering illness.

Mr. Schneider farmed in the town of Rockland on the homestead and was a salesman for the McNes Co.
Survivors include a brother Kermit of Rt. 4 Childton, three sisters, Mrs Rueben Krueger of Rt. 4 Chilton, Mrs. Leona Benin of Manitowoc and Mrs Lydia Wenzel of Kaukana. His parents and a brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when the casket willbe moved to the the church the body will lie in state until the hour of service.

Mrs. William Schneider passed away Thursday morning, Dec. 21, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theo. Draheim, residing one mile south of the village.
Mrs. Schneider, who was 82 years old, lived in Collins. She had come here intending to make a short visit with her daughter and was taken ill about three weeks ago. She was born in Germany Oct. 21, 1851.
Funeral services at the Draheim home were at 12:30 o'clock followed by services and commitment at Collins. Pallbearers were Harold Haese, Elroy Schaefer, Edgar, Helmuth and Kenneth Schneider and Arthur Krueger.

BURLINGTON - Elizabeth Mary 'Becky' Schroyer, 42, passed away Monday, March 13, 2006, surrounded by her family at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee.
She, was born May 9, 1963, in C helse, Mass., to Edward and Elizabeth (nee: Goldbeck) Hinzpeter. She spent her early life and received her education in Burlington. On February 6, 1988, she was united in marriage to Tom Schroyer. Following marriage, they resided in Burlington, where Becky had been a lifetime resident.
She was a Hostess for Nancy's Place in Pell Lake and a member of the Walworth County Tavern League. Becky was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth Hinzpeter; husband, Tom Schroyer; children, Justin and Kristin Schroyer, all of Burlington; sister, Diane (Jerry) Frey of Stradford; and by brothers, Frederick (Louise) Hintz of Riverbank, Calif. and Edward (Sherry) Hinzpeter of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her father and two infant brothers.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Burlington on Friday, March 17, 2006, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Terry Laabs officiating. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 until 6 p.m. and then again at the church on Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. Memorials to the Lupus Foundation have been suggested.

The former Gertrude Swenson was born Jan. 27,1908 , and married Glen Sheffer on Nov. 24, 1926 in Chetek. They resided In Rice Lake for several years before moving to New York . In 1933, they returned to Rice Lake . Mrs. Sheffer was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and had been active In the PTA as well as the United Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Sheffer Is survived by two daughters, Ellen and Lucy Sheffer, both of Eau Claire; two sons, Rodney of Bloomlngton, Minn. and George of Richfield Springs, N.Y.; and by nine grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, in 1989.

Glen W. Sheffer
Former postal employee Glen W. Sheffer, 86, of Rice Lake , died April 26 at the Rice Lake Convalescent Center . A Masonic memorial service was held Friday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals.
Mr. Sheffer was born June 11, 1902 in the Town of Shelby in LaCrosse County . He moved to Radisson in 1917 and then to Rice Lake in 1922, where he graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1924. He worked at the Central Hotel and Land 0' Lakes Hotel in Rice Lake .
On Nov. 24,1926 , he married Gertrude Swenson of Chetek. They moved to New York City in 1928 and worked in many hotels during that time. In 1933, they moved back to Rice Lake , where he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Rice Lake for more than 31 years, retiring in November 1968. He was well known in Rice Lake by postal patrons both on city and rural routes. He Joined the Mason Lodge 234 in Rice Lake in 1950. He was a Scottish Rite Mason, a shriner and past master of the lodge.
Mr.Sheffer is survived by his wife, Gertrude; two sons, Rodney of Bloomington, Minn., and George of Richfleld Springs, N.Y.; two daughters, Ellen Sheffer of Eau Claire and Lucy Motycka of Rice Lake ; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irene Putnam of Farlbault. Minn.

Mr. Skatrude was born April 26, 1920, in St. Nazianz, son of Selmar Skatrude and the late Eva Streckert Skatrude. He attended Valders High School and Stevens Point College. Mr. Skatrude had been a Physics and Chemistry teacher in Valders School System for the past 32 years.

Selmar (Sally) Skatrud, 90, of 703 S. 33rd St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon, August 5, 1987, at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev. Bruce McKenney will officiate and burial will be in The Lutheran Cemetery, Sheboygan.
Mr. Skatrud was born July 15, 1897; in the Town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, son of the late Ole and Regnild Erickson Skatrud, He attended Liberty area schools. Mr. Skatrud was formerly employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilding during World War II and was a mechanic for Larson Chevrolet and Christel Implement and later opened his own garage at the Intersection of U.S. Highway 151 and Greendale Road. He was very well known for his mechanic ability. Mr. Skatrud was a lifetime member of Chilton Steam Engine Club, a charter member of Valders American Legion Post and Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a Veteran of World I. He married Eva Streckert February 26, 1920. She preceded him in death in February of 1978. He then married Eleanor Woldt, July 17, 1979, at Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; a son, Willard Skatrud of rural Valders; a brother and sister-in-law, Erwin and Linda Skatrud of Manitowoe; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Torrison of Valders; a son-in-law, Rev. Harvey Reh of Michigan and a granddaughter, Anne Marie Reh of Valders. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, five sisters and two brothers.

Thomas N. Snider. 74, of 1427 S. 22nd St., Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday morning, May 27,1992, at Memorial Medical Center, where he was a patient the past week.
He was bom Aug. 10, 1917, In Flint. Mich. to the late Harland H. and Ascha Forrest Snider. He attended schools in Wabeno, Wis. He served In WWII from June, 1942, until October, 1945 in the European area, after which he worked at Kohler.
He was married Shirley Boye of Adell, June 26, 1948 at St. Paul's Church, Random Lake. He graduated from Sheboygan County Teachers College, and received his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He served as principal of Parnell School and Parkview Elementary in the Plymouth School district. He retired In 1981.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, where he served as Sunday School teacher and elder in years past. He was a member of the Sheboygan County Retired Teachers Association, Wisconsin Retired Educators Association and the Plymouth VFW.
Survivors Include his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Jennifer (Tom) Hermann, Egg Harbor, Wis.; Deborah (Barry) Brusse. Sheboygan; Kim Marie Snider, Germany; and one son, Thomas S. Snider, in the Navy, Corpus Christi, Tex.; two grandchildren, Nathan and Danielle Brusse, Sheboygan; two sisters, Mary (Harold) Schroder, Green Bay; and Bernice (Anthony) Mugan, Cascade. He was preceded In death by two sisters and two brothers, who lived in California.
Funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd Church, South 23th St. and David Ave., on Saturday, May 30, at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. William Redeker, pastor Our Savior's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of services. Entombment will follow at Garden Terrace Mausoleum.

His early life and education was spent in Lawrence, KS. He was married on March 1, 1946, in Lake Geneva, to Miola E. Wortman, following their marriage they lived in Burlington. Mr. Solberg was a retired Supervisor for Burlington Brass Works, and a member of Cross Lutheran Church in Burlington. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was a member of the Anderson Murphy V.F.W. Post of Burlington. Surviving are his wife, Miola of Burlington; son, Neal L. SPRAGUE-At his home at 327 Liberty Street, Tuesday, May 26, 1931, James E. Sprague, aged 73 years.
He was born in the town of Benton on the Porter Road, October 3rd, 1858. Eighteen years ago he moved to Penn Yan and has lived here since that time. He was a faithful member of the Baptist Church, and has been the sexton for the past sixteen years. He had served as assessor for the village of Penn Yan. He is survived by one son, Howard O. Sprague and a granddaughter, Irene Louise Sprague, of Penn Yan. The funeral will be held from his late home on Liberty street Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. R.N. Jessup officiating. Burial in Lake View cemetery.

John Stewart
John H. Stewart Sr., 63, 438 8th Pl., died Saturday (July 24, 1993) at Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center. Born May 22, 1930, in LaGrange, Ind., he was the son of John Jacob and Mary (Myers) Stewart.
He attended area schools in Indiana and came to Kenosha in 1972 after marrying Mary Jean Vines on Sept. 25, 1970.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1951, and later worked for 18 years as a police officer in Indiana and Michigan. He was also employed as a custodian with the Kenosha Unified School District until his retirement in 1978.
He was a member of Holy Nativity Church.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, John Jr, Kenosha; Jimmy, Texas; and Mike, Michigan; three daughters, Diane and Sarah, both of Kenosha, and Donna, Texas, and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and two sisters.
Lendman-Mischler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Anna Streckert, 54, of Rt. 1, Kiel, died Sunday aftetrnoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Reedsville Funeral Home, the Rev. Harvey Reh of Stratford officiating. Burial will be in Streckert Cemetery, Town of Eaton.
Miss Streckert was born Nov. 6, 1907, in the Town of Eaton, daughter of the late Henry and Paulina Marks Streckert.
Survivors include two brothers, George of Rt. 1. Kiel, and Gottfried of Rt. 4, Chilton; four sisters, Mrs. Ervin Holdorf and Mrs. Arthur Busse of Rt. 1, Kiel, Mrs. Selmar Skatrude of Rt. 1, Valders, and Mrs. Vilas Holdorf of Rt. 4, Chilton, seven nephews and three nieces. A sister, Lydia, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Elma Streckert, 80, formerly of Route 4, Chillon, died Monday morning, October 30, 1989, at Chilton Village, where she resided for the past three years.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Meiselwilz Funeral Home, Kiel. Rev. Kenneth Fisk, retired pastor of Community Bible Church of Manilowoc will officiate. Burial will be in Streckert Cemetery, Town of Eaton.
The former Elma Lulz was born June 25, 1909, at Redvers, Canada, daughter of the late William and Anna Klappstein Lutz. She attended schools in Manitowoc. She married Gottfried Streckert on April 19, 1941, at Gospel Tabernacle Church, Manitowoc. The couple farmed on Streckert Homestead in the Town of Eaton until their retirement. He preceded her in death July 15, 1986. Mrs. Streckert was a member of Community Bible Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Byron and Ruth Lulz of Manitowoc, Herman and Rudy Lutz of Bowling Green, Virginia; a sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Henrietta (William) Bischoff of San Antonio, Texas and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Lulz of Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

George J. Streckert, 84, of 1021 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, died early Tuesday evening, August 7, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Larry Ellenberger will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen s Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Streckert was born Aug. 17, 1894, in the Town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, son of the late Henry and Pauline Streckert. He had resided at Manitowoc and was a member of the Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Backhaus Jr. of Manitowoc and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Roevke of Oshkosh; a brother, Gatfred [Gottfried] Streckert of Chilton; two sisters, Mrs. Adeline Bussee of St. Nazianz and Mrs. Vilas Haldorfrin [Holdorf] of Hayton [Chilton?], Wis., a grandchild and nieces and nephews. A son, Ronald preceded him in death.

Gottfried Streckert
Gottfried Streckert, 83, R. 4, Chilton, died Tuesday, July 15, at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton, where he was a patient' for two days.
He Was born July 24, 1902, to the Town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, a son of the late Henry and Paulina Marcks Streckert
He attended Town of Eaton schools.
On April 19, 1941 he married Elma Lutz at Gospel Tabernacle in Manitowoc.
He farmed the Streckert homestead farm in the Town of Eaton until his retirement in 1976, and he also did custom log sawing and small radio repair.
Mr. Streckert was a member of Community Bible Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife; and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Holdorf, rural Chilton, and Mrs. Adeline Busse, rural Kiel.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Community Bible Church in Manitowoc, with the Rev. Kenneth Fisk, retired pastor, officating.
Burial was in Streckert Cemetery in the Town of Eaton. Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel took care of arrangements.

Henry J. Strechert, Town of Eaton farmer, died Tuesday afternoon at home
near Collins. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. The funeral will be held
at 1 p.m. Friday from the home with burial in Eaton Town Cemetery. The Rev.
Arthur M. Krueger will officiate.
Mr. Strechert died on the homestead farm where he was born July 21, 1867.
He married Paulina Marks in 1890. The widow survives with seven children; Mrs.
Erwin Holdorf and Mrs. Arthur Busse Eaton Town, Mrs. Selmar Skatrude, Valders and Anna, Elsie, George and Godfrey at home. There are six grandchildren.

Lillian Streckert
Lillian Streckert, 64, a resident of Chilton Village passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1990.
She was born in Two Rivers on Jan. 8, 1926, the daughter of the late Ambrose and Anna (Barta) Meyer. Mrs. Streckert was employed at Aluminum Specialty Company in Chilton and married George Streckert.
She is survived by two daughters—Patricia, Marcia and her husband Thomas Ruebke and one son—Ronald J. Streckert. She is also survived by one sister—Toni Vollendorf and a brother— Edward Meyer.
The Rev. Loren Nys, SDS was the officiating clergyman at a service at Wieting Funeral Home in Chilton.

STRECHERT
Mrs. Paulina Strechert, 72, died Saturday afternoon at the farm home in Eaton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the home with burial in the
Evangelical Church Cemetery of Eaton.
Mrs. Strechert, nee Paulina Marks, was born in 1866, a daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Marks. She was married to Henry Strechert in 1889 and they
located on a farm in Eaton. He died four years ago.
Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Harriet Holdorf and Mrs. Adeline Busse, both
of Kiel, Mrs. Eva Skatrude of Valders, Eva and Elsie at home, two sons George and
Gottfried on the home farm; brother Carl of Wayside; two sisters Mrs. Anna Grapentine and Mrs. Augusta Boehm both of De Pere; and seven grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the Strechert home.

Mrs. Ida Suchy, 56, died July 13, at her home, 3741 S. 108th St.
Franksville. She had been a life long resident of southeastern Wisconsin.
She was born in Racine on Jan. 16, 1913, the daughter of Paul and Emma
Rasmussen Coe. She attended BeeBe school, Racine, and Racine County
Agricultural school. On Dec. 18, 1957 she married Joe Suchy, who proceeded her
in death on April 24, 1966. Following the marriage they resided in Burlington.
Mrs. Suchy was a member of St. John's Lutheran church and the Ladies Aid
Society of the church.
Funeral services were held on July 16 from St. John's Lutheran church,
with the Rev. Harry Wiedmann officiating. Burial followed at the Burlington
cemetery. Schuette, Werth and Daniels handling funeral arrangements.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Irene) Wortman, Racine, Mrs.
Edward (Betty) Hinzpeter, Burlington, Mrs. Floyd (Florence) Kiesow, East Troy,
and Ida Suchy, Franksville; two sons Arthur Goldbeck, Franksville and Louis
Goldbeck, Milwaukee; 20 grandchildren; Three brothers, James Coe, Kenosha, Paul
Coe, Walcott, Iowa and Harvy Larson, Racine; and three sisters Mrs Alvin
(Dorothy) Wold, Neilisville, Mrs. Harold (Myrtle) Dickman, Racine and Mrs.
Milton (Marjorie) Wentzel, Sturtevant. She was proceeded in death by one sister.

Joe I. Suchy, 76, 518 Lewis St., died April 24, at Burlington Memorial hospital, following a short illness.
He was born Feb. 1, 1890 in Czechoslovakia to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Suchy. His early life was spent in that country. He came to the United States at the age of 17 and lived in Waukegan for 16 years before moving to Burlington, where he had resided for the past 43 years.
A retired shoe maker, Mr. Suchy had served in World War I as a fire man 4th class in the Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Ross Wilcox Post Number 79.

Died of apoplexy at his residence in Barrington, on Friday evening, Sept. 8, 1871, Delazon J. Sunderlin, Esq., at the age of sixty-two years and six months….His father Dennis Sunderlin, and his grandfather David Sunderlin, settled in Sunderlin Hollow, now distinguished by the Crystal Spring, the latter in 1814 and the former in 1812. Dennis Sunderlin who was a citizen of rare worth, married Nancy Fitch and had two sons, Alonzo and Delazon J.—Alonzo has long been a faithful and honored minister of the Baptist Church.—Delazon J. has been a farmer as well as a lawyer of extended reputation….He built a pleasant residence on the place where his father was the original settler, and there lived and died on a large farm the fruit of his own labors. He married Louisa, daughter of James A. Swarthout of Barrington, who survives him…. Their son Martin J. Sunderlin is also now a lawyer, admitted in 1856, and a farmer residing near the homestead of his father….

She had been a remarkably vigorous woman up to within a few months of her death. She was born in the town of Potter in 1826, the daughter of Dr. James Southerland, a pioneer in that section. She was the widow of Zera Swarthout. She leaves a daughter, Mrs Irene Mittower, with whom she lived, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Swarthout had resided on Elm street about forty years. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at three o'clock.

Thursday night, December 10, 1908, occured the death of Joel Swarthout, at the home of his daughter, Mrs Fred Rapalee, near Himrod. Mr. Swarthout's death was sudden and unexpected. He was born in the town of Barrington in 1836. About eight years ago he and his wife took up thir residence with their daughter and had since made that their home. Deceased is survived by his widow and one daughter, three brothers, Henry, of Colden, Erie county, john, of Milo, and Byron, of Princeton, Ill.
The funeral was held Sunday. Burial at Dundee.

The subject of this sketch was born in Barrington, Yates county, N. Y., April 10, 1837, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Raplee, in Himrod, N. Y.
He was one of a family of eight children of James Swartout and Maria Wright.
On March 25, 1860, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth S. Rogers, daughter of the late Dr. E. W. Rogers, of Crystal Spring a. Two children blessed this union one daughter, Helena, now Mrs. Raplee, and one son, James Emerson, who died in infancy.
Mr. Swarthout was a kind Christian man, one who won the esteem of those with whom he had occasion to meet. He was a kind and obliging neighbor and will be greatly missed in this community.
Besides his wife and daughter, the deceased is survived by one grandson, D. J. Raplee, of Himrod; three brothers, Henry. of Colden, N. Y., Byron, of Princeton, Ill., and one sister. Mrs. A. R. Griswold, also of Princeton, Ill.
The funeral was held from the late home on Sunday. A cousin of the de-ceased, Rev. Leon L. Swarthout, of Lima, N. Y., officiated.
Interment in Hillside cemetery, Dundee, N. Y. R. P. T.

Mrs. Heman C. Swarthout died in Watkins on April 3d, aged 82 years. Her maiden name was Sarah A. Monroe, and when eighteen years of age she joined the Baptist church in Benton, this county. In 1838 she married Heman C. Swarthout. She lived in the village of Irelandville about twenty-five years, but since the death of her husband, in 1882, Mrs. Swarthout had lived with her children in the west and in Watkins. She was the mother of ten children, seven of whom survive. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday for Edward D. Tansor, 74, of 237 Mead Ave., Plymouth, who died suddenly at his home yesterday following a heart attack.
He was born Jan. 30, 1885 in Chicago, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tansor.
At 14 he started a career in banking as a messenger in the Northern Trust Bank and worked his way up to membership of the trust department of the Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Co. in Chicago. He was with the bank in that department from 1918 until his retirement in 1946. At that time he came to Plymouth to make his home. He was married to the former Nelda Goldbeck of Chicago, Aug. 21, 1938. He is survived by his wife and four sisters, Mrs. Emma Herrmann of McHenry, Ill., Mrs. Robert Park of Santa Monica, Calif., Mrs. Lu Ummach and Miss Harriet Tansor, both of Los Angeles, Calif. He also is survived by five nieces and two nephews in Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parent, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. G. A. Karpinsky, associate pastor of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Plymouth, officiating.
Burial will be in Plymouth Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home -from 2 p.m. Friday until the time of service.

Mrs. Nelda G. Tansor, 77, of 237 Mead Ave., Plymouth, died Friday at Plymouth
Hospital following a lingering illness.
The former Nelda Goldbeck, she was born Oct. 14, 1897, in the Town of Wilson,
a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Goldbeck.
She attended district school in the Town of Wilson, then resided in Chicago,
working as assistant dress designer at Carson Pirie Scott.
On Aug. 21, 1938, she married Edward D. Tansor in Chicago.
The couple moved to Plymouth in 1948 on their retirement. Mr. Tansor died
Sept. 9, 1959.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Plymouth, and its Mission
Circle, and was active in the Cradle Roll.
Surviving are a brother, Carl Goldbeck of Plymouth, and several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, Plymouth,
with the Rev. Robert Wudy, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plymouth
Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wittkopp Funeral Home from 3 p.m. Sunday until 11 a.m.
Monday and at the church from noon until the time of services.
Members of St. John's Mission Circle are asked to meet at l:45 p.m. Monday
at the church to attend services in a group.

THAYER.--In Milo, February 12, 1912. Mrs. Marietta Wortman Thayer, widow of the late Jacob Thayer.
Mrs. Thayer leaves one son, W.J. Thayer; two sisters, Mrs. W.H. Hawley, and Mrs. James F. Sprague, and a brother, Amos Wortman. She was the daughter of Joel Wortman.

Mrs. Anna Thiede wife of August Thiede, died at her home on the Capt. Cavano place on Gardner's Prairie near this village last Saturday morning at 10 o'clock aged 20 years.
The funeral was held at St. John's Lutheran church in Burlington last Monday afternoon
at 1 o'clock. (The other paper said she was 21 years old and survived by her husband
and a five month old child. Died October 4, 1890)

Mrs. August Thiede died at her home on the Capt. Kavano farm last Saturday morning, age 21 years, and the funeral was held from St. John's Lutheran church Monday afternoon. A five month old child and her husband survive her. The sorrowing relatives return thanks for the many acts of kindness and sympathy shown during the illness and death of their beloved one.

August T. Thiede died at his home on Rt 4 Sunday afternoon. Mr. Thiede was 81
years of age.
August Theodore Thiede was born in Germany June 29, 1866, the son of John and
Marie Thiede. When he was 17 years of age he came to the United States and settled
on a farm near Burlington, where he still made his home. Mr. Thiede was married three
times. His first wife was Anna Vohs, his second was Anna Hoffman and his third wife
was Eliza. King. All three proceeded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock from St. John's Lutheran church with
Rev. George Barthels officiating. Burial was in Burlington Cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Thiede are three children. Mrs. Charles Wortman, Hugo and Erwin
Thiede all of Burlington; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

August T. Thiede, a retired farmer, passed away at his home on Route 4 Sunday. He was 81 years old.
Born in Germany, June 29, 1866, the son of John and Marie Thiede, Mr. Thiede came to this country at the age of 17 and to the farm on which he spent the rest of his life. He was married three times, first to Anna Voss, second to Anna Hoffman, and third to Eliza King. All three of his wives have preceded him in death. He was a member of St John's Evangelical Lutheran church.
One daughter, two sons, 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive. Mrs. Charles Wortman is the daughter and Hugo and Erwin Thiede are the sons. All are from Burlington.
The funeral was Wednesday afternoon at St. John's church with Rev. George Barthels officiating. Burial was in the Burlington cemetery.

Mrs. August Thiede died on Sunday Morning, May 28, at her home a few miles south of this city, in the town of Burlington of cancers She had been in poor health for the past year but was able to be up and around until shortly before her death.
Eliza. King, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Michael King, was born in the town of Geneva, Walworth county on Dec. 31, 1862. She was married at Burlington on August 10, 1899 to August Thiede, who with one daughter and two sons, are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother. The children are Mrs. C.L. Wortman of Spring Prairie, Hugo of the town of Burlington and Erwin living at home. She is also survived by three brothers, Fred King, Lake Geneva; August King, Lake Como; and Ferdinhand King of California: also four sisters Mrs Chas. Fleager, Lake Geneva; Mrs. George Krech, Osceola, Wis.; Mrs. Chas. Mach and Mrs. John Hotton of Elkhorn.
The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the late home of the deceased, Rev. J.B. Rosemurgy officiating and internment was had in Burlington Cemetary.

Mrs. August Thiede
Mrs. August Thiede passed away at her home in the town of Burlington, Sunday morning, after a long illness from cancer. Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon by Rev. J. B. Rosemurgy and interment took place in the Burlington cemetery.
Eliza King was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John King and was born in the town of Lake Geneva on December 21, 1862. On August 10, 1889 [should be 1899], she was married to August Thiede. They made their home at Slade's Corners for a short time, later moving to Spring Prairie and then to the farm south of Burlington where they have since resided.
Besides her husband, three children arf left to mourn the passing of a kind and loving wife and mother: Mrs. Chas. Wortman, Spring Prairie; Hugo and Erwin, Burlington. Also three brothers, Fred, Lake Geneva; Ferdinand, California; August, Como; and four sisters, Mrs. Chas. Flaeguer, Lake Geneva; Mrs. Geo. Kreck, Osceola; Mrs. Chris. Mack, Mrs. John Hotton, Elkhorn.

Thiede
Erwin R. Thiede, 80, of Twin Lakes, died Wednesday at Milwaukee County General Hospital following a five-week illness.
He was bom in Burlington on Feb. 23, 1896, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Thiede.
He spent his early life in Burlington and attended schools there.
On Jan. 10, 1931, in Waukegan, Ill. Mr. Thiede married Gunda Holden. They resided on a farm In the Burlington area following their marriage and for I the past 25 years had resided in Twin Lakes. Mr. Thiede was a member of St. John Lutheran church, Burlington. Survivors besides his wife are three daughters, Evelyn Delcorps, Kenosha; Mrs. Lorenz (Judith) Bode, Powers Lake; and Mrs. Harold (Marilyn) Elverman, Twin Lakes; a son, Erwin A. Jr., Twin Lakes; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, and a sister.

Erwin A. Thiede, 68, of Neillsville, Wis., died Sunday (July 11, 2004) at his home.
Born in Burlington on July 9, 1936, he was the son of the late Erwin R. and Gunda (Holden) Thiede.
He served in the U.S. Army with the 11th Airborne Division in Germany.
He worked as a dairy farmer before retiring to Neillsville.
He enjoyed fishing and was a Brewers fan.
Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Delcorps of Kenosha, and Marilyn (Harold) Elverman of Twin Lakes.
Buchanan Funeral Home of Neillsville handled the private arrangements.

Her early life and education were spent in Minneapolis. On January 10, 1932, she was married to Erwin R. Thiede, following their marriage they lived in the Burlington area. He passed,away on July 30, J975. Mrs. Thiede was a retired nurse receiving her degree at Grant, Hospital in Chkago. She was a member off St. John's Lutheran Church In Burlington. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Delkorps of Kenosha, Mrs, Lorenz (Judith) Bode Rt.7, Burlington, Mrs, Harold (Marilyn) Elverman of Twin lakes, and one son, Erwin Thiede, Jr. of Twin Lakes; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one brother, John Holden of LeCenter, Minn.; nices, nephews. She. was preceded in death by three sisters. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 28, at 2:00 p.m. at St John's Lutheran Church in Burlington with Rev. Richard Weeks officiating. Fuyneral services for Hugo William Thiede, 71, were held from Schuette, Worth and Daniels funeral home on Tuesday, May 19. The Rev, Parks Johnson of Honey Creek officiated at the afternoon service. Burial was in the Burlington cemetery.
The body of the deceased, who was a retied farmer, was discovered along the Honey Creek riverbank where he had been fishing and apparently suffered a heart attack. The Burlington rescue squad was called by John Hubbard, Milwaukee, who found him.
Mr. Thiede was born in Spring Prairie on May 8, 1893, the son of August and Anna Hoffman Thiede. He spent his youth in and around Burlington. On Dec. 12, 1917, at Burlington, he was married to the former Louise Smith, who preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 1943. After their marriage the couple made their home in Burlington.
Survivors include a son, Bernard, of Honey Creek and a brother, Erwin Thiede, of Twin Lakes. A sister, Mrs. Laura Wortman, preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Hugo William Thiede, 71, were held from the Schuette, Werth and

Johann Thiede was found dead in bed last Monday morning at the house of his daughter
Mrs. Fred Jahnke in this city. Mr. Thiede was in his usual good health the day before
and ate as hearty a supper as usual before retiring. Not answering to call in the
morning on investigation he was found laying in bed dead as though death had come
without a struggle. A stroke of paralysis is thought to have ended his life. The
funeral will be held this Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 from the house and at 2:00 from
St. John's Lutheran church.
Mr. Thiede was born at Wolfsahl, Germany August 7, 1830 and was married there.
Coming to this country in 1884 the family located in Burlington. Mrs. Thiede died in
the city 15 years ago. Two children survive to mourn the loss of their father. They
are Mrs. Fred Jahnke of this city and August Thiede of the town of Burlington.

John Thiede died at the home of his daughter, Mrs, Fred Jahnke, early last Monday morning. Mr. Thiede retired Sunday night in his usual health. Monday morning he was found dead in bed, having succumbed to heart failure. Mr. Thiede was born in Wolfsahl, Germmny, Aug. 7, 1830, and came to America and settled in Burlington in 1884. His wife died some fifteen years ago and he is now survived by the daughter named above and one son, August Thiede, of the town of Burlington.
The funeral Of Mr. Thiede was held from St. John's Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. A. Moussa conducted the services and the remains were laid to rest in the town cemetery.

Mrs. Hugo Thiede of Rochester passed away at 6 o'clock this (Thursday) morning at
Burlington Memorial Hospital following an operation a week ago.
Mrs. Thiede was born Louise Smith in Lake Geneva Jan. 27, 1894. Her parents were
Johanna and William Smith. Her early life was spent in the town of Brighton. Following
her marriage to Hugo Thiede on Dec. 12, 1917 the couple lived on farms in the vicinity
of Wheatland and Slades Corners.
Mrs. Thiede is survived by her husband; a son Bernard living on the home farm; and
her mother Johanna Smith living in Burlington. She also leaves four sisters Mrs. Adolph
Richter, Twin Lakes; Mrs. Wm. Tietel, Slades Corners; Mrs. Paul Ratzlow, Milwaukee and Mrs. Roy Me Court, Burlington; and a brother Frank Smith, Slades Corners.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Shuette funeral home Burlington.

Mrs. Hugo Thiede of Rochester died at Memorial hospital Thursday morning, following an operation last week.

Ruby Fern Thorberg, age 98, of Elk River, Minnesota, formerly of New Auburn, passed away peacefully at Guardian Angels Care Center of Elk River on Friday, November 26, 2004. She was born on April 22, 1906 in Sand Creek to Dell and Mary (Reed) Lynch. She married Rae Aimer Thorberg on October 21, 1929 in Stillwater, Minnesota. She enjoyed teaching piano and working at the Post Office in Issaquah, Washington.
She is survived by her close nieces and nephews: Lenore (George) Spears of Elk River, Minnesota, Dale (Hazel) Lynch of Menomonie, Wisconsin, Bonnie (Dale) Soderberg of Danbury, Wisconsin and Richard Hoyland of California; numerous other
nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Rae; two brothers: Von and Paul Lynch.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with Rev. Bruce Rimmereid officiating. Interment will be in the Popple Creek American Cemetery in the Town of Grant, Dunn County.
Friends may call from 12:00 - 1:00 on Wednesday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. There will be no visitation Tuesday

Mrs. Samuel Toombs (nee Artemesia Rose) died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. K. Bushnell, near this city, on Monday morning, February 24, aged nearly 89 years. The deceased was born at Fort Montgomery-on-yhe-Hudson, New York, May 6, 1830. She was married April 18, 1850, at Yorkville, Wis., to Samuel Toombs, where she was making her home with her brother, Vincent Rose. Mr. Toombs died Nov. 4, 1902. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W.K. Bushnell of Burlington; and two sons, Albert Toombs, Pompey's Pillar, Mont., and Jerome Toombs, Orson, Iowa. Also a sister, Mrs. Susan Weyant of Cornwall, New York.
The funeral was held from the Bushnell residence on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. E. L. Benson officiating and internment was had in the town cemetery.

Resided in Burlington Since. 1850—Three Children Survive
In the death of Mrs. Samuel Toombs at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. K. Bushnell Monday morning another of the pioneers of Racine county has passed to the great beyond. Coming to the town of Burlington as a bride in 1850, she has resided here since then. Fulfilling the duties of wife, mother and neighbor in a quiet und unostentagious manner, she was honored
and respected by all who knew her. Her funeral took place from the Bushnell home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. E. L. Benson, of Plymouth Congregational church, conducting the services, with interment in the Burlington cemetery.
Mrs. Toombs, whose maiden name was Artemesia Rose, was born at Fort Montgomery on the Hudson, N. Y., May 6, 1830. As a girl she came to the town of Yorkville to make her home with her brother, Vincent Rose. Here she was married to Samuel Toombs on April 10, 1850, and they came to the town of Burlington to make their home. Mr. Toombs died November 4, 1902, and since that time she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. K. Bushnell. Besides the daughter she is survived by two sons, Albert H. Toombs, of Pompeys Pillar, Mont, and Jerome Toombs, of Orson, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Susan Weyant, of Cornwall, N. Y.

Bushnell, of Burlington, and two sons, Jerome Toombs of Iowa, and Albert Toombs of Pompeys Pillar, Montana. The funeral will be held from the Bushnell home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. OBITUARY
Samuel Toombs, an old and well known resident of this vicinity, died last week Tuesday at his home several miles southeast of this city. He had been in poor health for several years past and a short time before his death has the misfortune to break an arm, which added to his general ill- health, no doubt hastened his death.
Mr. Toombs was born in Buckinghamsire, England, February 21, 1820, and came to New York when he was seven years old. In 1839 he came to Burlington with his parents, who located on the farm where the subject of this sketch was living at the time of his death. In 1852 Mr. Toombs went to California via the Isthmus of Panama route and remained there seven years. Returning to Wisconsin he spent the balance of his life in this vicinity. In 1851 he was married in Yorkville, this county, to Miss Artemesa Rose, who survives him, together with three children as follows: Mrs Wm K Bushnell and Albert Toombs of the town of Burlington and Jerome Toombs of Orson, Iowa.
Mr. Toombs was the second oldest of three sisters and one brother, who have all passed away before him but one, Mrs. Asa Hollister, of Oshkosh, aged 75 years, who was here at the time of his death. Mr. Toombs was well known in this vicinity where he had resided nearly sixty years and was esteemed as an upright and worthy citizen.
The funeral of Mr. Toombs was held from his late home on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Wm. Killburne conducting the services, and internment was had in the town cemetery.

On Tuesday another of the pioneer settlers of Burlington passed from the earth. Samuel Toombs died on the old homestead about two miles southeast of the city on that day. Mr, Toorbs had been in poor health for some time. Recently he was unfortunate enough to break his arm, and his feebleness was unable to withstand the shock. He suffered greatly until death came to him as a gentle relief.
Mr. Toombs was born in Buckinghamshire, England, Feb. 13, 1813. He came to Wisconsin and located in Burlington in 1839 and has since resided here. In 1849 he was united in marriage with Miss Artemeisa Rose in Racine, who. with three children, Mrs. Wm. K. Bushnell and Albert Toombs of this town, and Jerome Toombs of Orson, Iowa, survive him. Mr. Toombs was a man prominent in public affairs of the community for many years. He was a staunch democrat and took an active part in politics in early days. He was well known all through this section and esteemed as a good, upright and hornest citizen by all.
The funeral of Mr. Toombs took place from his late home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. Wm, Killburne conducting the services, and the remains were laid to rest in the town cemetery.

Earl W. Triphan
Earl W. triphan, 68, of the Town of Plymouth, died at his home of an apparent heart attack Sunday night.
He was bom July 13, 1915, in the Town of Mitchell, a son of the late George and Celia Bartelt Triphan.
He attended district school and mechanical training courses.
On June 21, 1941, he and Evelyn Roepke of Plymouth were married.
They resided in Random Lake for 10 years, where Mr. Triphan was employed as service manager for the" Wilk Buick Garage, and moved to Plymouth tn 1954, where he operated Triphan Motor Service until 1970. He worked at Gilson Brothers Co., Plymouth, for nine years Until retiring in 1979.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Plymouth.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Brian of Waldo; one granddaughter, and five sisters, Mrs. Edwin Mohnsam of Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. Jack Bonnett of the Town of Greenbush, Mrs. Edward Ardell Sr. of the Town of Plymouth, Mrs. Wesley Streubing of rural Plymouth, and Mrs. Willard Kleinhans of Route 3, Plymouth.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Plymouth, with the Rev. Dennis Pegorsch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Plymouth.
Friends may call at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, after 3 p.m. Tuesday and until 11 a.m. Wednesday, and at the church from noon until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Triphan's name for the church.

Keith A. Tucker Sr.
OCALA, FLA. - Keith A. Tucker Sr., 67, formerly of Racine, died at his residence on Saturday, March 15,2003.
He was born in Antigo and had resided in the Ocala, Fla. area since 1996. He was united in marriage to Judy Dickman on February 16, 1956.
He was a retired Cement Mason. He was a member of the Ocala West Church of the Nazarene in Ocala, Fla. and the Racine Community Church of the Nazarene in Racine.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Judith G. Tucker of Ocala, Fla.; sons, Keith (Valerie) Tucker Jr. of Orland Park, Ill., Kenneth (Julia) Tucker of Morriston, Fla., Todd Tucker of Gallatin, Tenn., and Rodney Tucker of Waupun; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilbur (Ann) Tucker of Racine, Orville (Harriet) Tucker of Racine, and Lyle Tucker of Loomis, Calif.; sister, Violet (James) Latshaw of Loomis, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rocky (Carol) Fowler of Avon, Ind. and Phillip (Elaine) Cruz of Racine; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John (Diane) Dickman of Racine; and many, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Randolph Tucker in 1961; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo (Martha), Clinton, Virgil, and Arnold (Polly).
Funeral services will be held at the Ocala West Church of the Nazarene in Ocala, Fla. on Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, TimberRidge Chapel, in Ocala, Fla. on Tuesday from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time of service.
